It got cold last night. I found myself reaching for a blanket sometime in the early hours. It was in the low 60's when I got up. I was quite surprised as I was worried about another warm day and whether or not it would be too hot for our planned bike ride. As it turns out it was perfect bike riding weather, cool and sunny.

The cold weather must have motivated me to action. Before Kerry even thought about getting up, I had cleaned all the outside windows and polished our Magma stainless grill. I took time to admire the three hibiscus blooms on Kerry's plant. It is earning itself extra life in Florida when we go as we will take it there and plant it.

Kerry got up for tea and for a bike ride. Her motivation increased when neighbor Carrie told her there was a church rummage sale in town. We were off shortly after that. She found a little green plastic dish to hold our jimbo ice in the freezer that she's all excited about.

Then it was time to ride up the big hill surrounding the harbor. Well, maybe walk up the big hill would be a better description. Kerry did not make it to the viewing area at the top, but waited until I made it up and returned. She was about 1/4 mile short. So close . . . We saw a lady feeding apples to a deer, and were watched by other deer as we walked up the hill. The picture of the harbor is from the viewing area on the hilltop. You can barely see Annie on the left on the front wall in front of the small red roof.

On the way back I suggested we ride by the Inn at Gore Bay, a restaurant that someone had told us about. Kerry agreed as long as it was not uphill. It wasn't. When we got there we decided to have lunch. We split a chicken Caesar salad wrap. It came with great fries and gravy. I'm starting to like gravy with my fries now. The view was of the harbor.

We hit the hardware and grocery stores on the way back. Peter was ready to go fishing shortly after we returned to Annie. He was able to buy ethanol free gasoline for his dingy. As good looking as we are, it's always a surprise to me when we catch no fish. I did send Peter back to Voyager with a bag of freshly popped microwave popcorn.

We had mostly leftover Mexican taco salads at Voyager for dinner without the margaritas of course -
usually there are none of those leftover. We met at 7:00 to walk to the play. Kerry and Marianna got us in the first row this time. There were only 3 seats there, but Marianna pulled up a forth explaining that the usher told her to do so - a very clever move as there are no ushers there!

There were two one act, one hour plays. The first one was a little slow and that, combined with a warm theater, caused me to get a couple "wake up" elbows in the ribs. The second one was was better and came without elbows.

It was dark when we got back to Annie, and bedtime. Our plans for tomorrow are to move to anchor in the harbor but the forecast calls for high winds and gusts approaching 30 knots, so we may just stay in a dock. Most stores are closed Sunday except for the grocery. I may pack up the kayak for the trip home. Not much else on the agenda. We leave Monday for Vidal Bay.

  1. Great pics! I have problems biking up hills. Very short hills are okay. Sunny and cooler - 70’s today. Love the flowers! Safe travels!

  3. No rain last night which was a good change, Today is sunny and pleasantly cool. The Indians have lost the last two games to Chicago but the Twins have conveniently lost their last two as well so we still are only one and a half games out of first place. Civale is pitching tonight and assuming we win we will split the series.with Chicago. We had green beans and one tomato from the garden for dinner and more tomatoes are on the way. Have you ever checked out the videos from SV Delos. Delos is a 53 foot ketch with two couples and a young child transiting from La Paz, Mexico to the South Pacific. Good stuff! KIP
