It was another peaceful evening and beautiful morning at anchor in Gore Bay. Unfortunately I had to spend more time than I wished dealing with crappy internet while trying to post the blog. And Big Jim was all over me about being late. I still took time to appreciate the nice surroundings.

I called the marina and got a dock assignment. The promise of a pot of hot tea was enough to get Kerry up about 9:30. We sat on the bow at first but it was really hot. Moving to the upper deck gave us shade and a nice breeze. Perfect. We pulled anchor moved to our dock with no issues. The air conditioners went on immediately which may be for the first time since we have been in Canada. We had trouble with the circuit on the pedestal blowing. I finally had to dig out my second 30 amp power cord and plug two cords into the pedestal which solved the problem. It was really hot today, the first truly warm weather we have experienced.

We are docked next to a very nice Ranger Tug, and an older steel Sable tug. It does not have an anchor  locker big enough for all it's chain. It does have a pretty teak and holly floor that Kerry loves. It also has a huge anchor. Apparently the couple had a sailboat whose anchor dragged in a storm once, a horrible experience for them. So now his philosophy is that "If people are not laughing at the size of your anchor, it's not big enough." Both sets of boaters are wonderful people. The Ranger Tug has nice amenities and cruises at 15 knots. They've got two big "Doodle" dogs aboard.

Kerry did laundry while I grocery shopped. Amazingly, I was able to buy new rubber feet at the hardware store for her little folding chairs. The original plastic ones were shot and falling apart. The Chinese laundry, so frequent on our Trent Severn cruise, was back today. Our Ranger Tug neighbor was so impressed with Kerry's clothes line that he said he was going to figure a way to utilize one on his boat.

I made ice most of the afternoon for our margarita party tonight. I was careful that none hit the floor. Jimbo's ice machine works great, does not take much power, and has saved us a lot of money. Ice is $5 a bag here. When I made the margaritas today I had pre-chilled the booze so that the margaritas were just as cold and frozen as when I used the "regular priced" ice. Marianna could tell the difference from the ones I made a week ago that were not as frozen.

The Orro's arrived at 5:30. We went right into margarita and taco salad night for another nice evening. We were all pretty tired so the party ended earlier than usual. I talked Kerry into a dock walk to look at boats before we retired. The night had cooled off nicely when we returned so we were able to open the hatches and shut off the air conditioners. It actually got cool in the night and we needed a blanket.

A bike ride, shopping and the theatre are all on tomorrow's agenda.

FYI - out on A dock the wind was gusting to 25 last night/Peter raised and secured the dinghy and added lines and repositioned others.

    1. Fried Chicken?!! Cell service is poor there. No wifi either last year. Got declined entry into US because of it. Had to report in Harrisville.
